AHR Expo 2019 – New Products

Here are some of the newest products launched by various manufacturers at AHR 2019 in Atlanta, GA.

Navien NFC Series Stainless Steel Combi-boilers

Navien introduced the new NFC series stainless steel fire tube combi-boilers at AHR 2019 in Atlanta, GA. The product will be available in two sizes, NFC-175 (175,000 BTU/H) and NFC-200 (199,900 BTU/H), each offering 95% AFUE, 11:1 turndown ratio, PVC venting up to 150 ft., high-altitude approval up to 10,100 ft. and industry leading residential and commercial warranties.

The new Navien NFC combi-boiler models come with a patented in-house designed and manufactured heat exchanger, Low Profile Burner, advanced controls for user navigation, a built-in DHW module, common venting capability up to 8 units, cascading capability up to 16 units, and built-in hardware to connect up to 3 zone pumps without a need for additional external controllers.

Friedrich FastPro

Launched at the 2019 AHR Expo, Friedrich’s re-engineered Floating Air Pro and Floating Air Premier ductless solutions featuring FastPro are designed with the HVAC contractor and installer in mind. Friedrich FastPro makes ductless installation and maintenance simpler, decreasing the time needed to install ductless systems and perform maintenance by as much as 50 percent, and reduces complications by allowing the interior unit’s blower wheel and drain pan module to be removed and re-installed as one component versus having to perform multiple steps.

Stiebel Eltron’s new PSH wall-mounted water heaters

Booth B3847

PSH 20 Plus storage water heaters are wall-mounted and will free up space. There is an optional wall-mounted drain pan available affording easy installation. A proven European design, the small size of the PSH 20 plus allows installation close to the tap for both energy and water savings. The combination of a smaller capacity tank with a powerful 3 kW heating element gives the PSH 20 Plus a quick recovery time and thick insulation saves energy with low standby losses.

DunAn Microstaq Newest Electronic Expansion Valve

DunAn Microstaq, Inc. (DMQ) is introducing the Silicon Refrigeration Valve (SRV), an electronically controlled, fast responding, bi-directional expansion valve that can support air conditioners, heat pumps, and refrigeration applications up to 1 ton of refrigeration capacity. The SRV incorporates MEMS (MicroElectroMechanical Systems) technology that is manufactured using silicon (Si) semiconductor material. It has a three-layered silicon chip that actuates based on an electro-thermal principal. The SRV is very compact, lightweight, and has a wide control range capability. It is compatible with all common refrigerants including hydrocarbons. Cost effective and simple electronic controls with voltage, PWM (Pulse Width Modulation) or current can be used to command the valve. Both open loop and closed loop control methodologies can be applied to control the valve due to the SRV’s very low hysteresis.

Carrier Introduces First VRF Product Line for Rooftops

Carrier has introduced the all-new Toshiba Carrier Variable Refrigerant Flow (VRF) Rooftop, a rooftop unit-style fan coil for the Toshiba Carrier VRF system that will allow multiple rooftop units to be connected to one condensing unit and additional VRF fan coil units, in order to help optimize energy efficiency and comfort with a rooftop HVAC solution.

The VRF Rooftop can utilize existing roof curbs and ductwork and can be installed without running refrigerant piping into the building. The VRF Rooftop also has economizer capability to bring in outside air, and when used in conjunction with CO2 sensors, helps with building codes and standards compliance.

REHAU EVERLOC+ Compression-sleeve Fitting System

At the AHR Expo in Atlanta, REHAU demonstrated the efficiency of its EVERLOC+ compression-sleeve fitting system. The connection technology is designed for use with REHAU RAUPEX crosslinked polyethylene (PEXa) pipe in up to 2-inch diameter. Offered in polymer and lead-free brass, EVERLOC+ compression-sleeve fittings are designed with four sealing edges and textured PEXa sleeves that grip tightly over both the pipe and fitting. Connections are made quickly using the battery-powered EVERLOC+ compression-sleeve tools and a consistent, two-step expansion/compression process. RAUPEX pipe is flexible and durable, making it easier to work, easing and speeding up the installation process, helping contractors save on labor, costs and materials.
