ASPE 2022 Show Recap

ASPE 2022, held in Indianapolis, Indiana, was a great success. Southern PHC was there, talking to industry pros to bring back the latest innovations and show highlights.
The American Society of Plumbing Engineers (ASPE) 2022 Convention and Expo was held September 16-21 at the Indiana Convention Center in Indianapolis, Indiana. Attendance was in the thousands making this one of ASPE’s most successful events to date. Plumbing industry professionals converged in Indianapolis for some 30 technical education sessions with each session providing CEU credits for certification and licensing continuing education requirements. The sessions consisted of six (6) tracks: Codes and Standards/ Water Quality, System Design, Sustainability, Specialty Design, Fire Protection, Life Safety and Healthcare.
Manufacturers were well represented at the Expo in the Convention Center allowing for one-on-one education from manufacturers on the latest product offerings.
And, of course, it wouldn’t be ASPE without a party or two. Nibco sponsored the opening party at Crane Bay Events Center which included live entertainment, multiple bars and a wide variety of food options.

2022 ASPE Convention and Expo Highlights
The 2022 ASPE Convention and Expo was held at the Indiana Convention Center in Indianapolis, Indiana September 16-21. Over 50 sponsors supported the event. In addition to educational sessions and product exhibits, the event featured a Breakfast Award Ceremony and Keynote Address. Keynote Speaker Chris Stricklin delivered an inspiring address on living an intentional life. During the Award Ceremony, the Society recognized ASPE members and industry partners with several awards.

LAARS Heating Systems Company talks about the newest commercially used E-Therm Heat Pump Water Heater. This heater allows for water to be heated to 180 degrees Fahrenheit regardless of outside weather conditions while staying energy efficient.
Legend Valve
Legend Valve, talks about the press product line which is designed to be used with standard tools. Press and valve products range from 0.5″- 4.0″.
Caleffi Hydronic Solutions
Calleffi is showcasing several of their more innovative products, many of which have won awards. Caleffi makes products to minimize call backs.
Viega
Viega, demonstrates Megapress Gas. This system is designed to press while flow conditions are present. Joints can be realigned while intact, and joints can withhold enormous amounts to pressure to avoid emergency conditions.
Uponor – AquaPort
This product will replace traditional domestic hot water systems, improve efficiency, and eliminate several common issues.
Milwaukee Valve
Milwaukee Valve feature the Brazilian Wedge Gate Valve and low lead valves. The company has been focusing on teaching others about valve design, instillation practices, and shares updates on industry standards and codes.
Jomar Valve – RecircSetter
Jomar Valve is debuting the RecircSetter Valve which has been in design for the past five years. Specifically designed for commercial buildings these valves help balance water temperatures, three models are available.
TOTO
Toto shares the Drake Toilet with an S550E Washlet. This toilet is user friendly, has various rinse and dry features, and has a tornado flush which makes cleaning easier for the owner.
RectorSeal
RectorSeal talks about the Clean Check Backwater Valve which can be buried up to twelve feet deep and allows for access from the ground level.
Stiebel Eltron
Stiebel Eltron shares the WPL Air to Water Heat Pump. Designed to be energy efficient, this is an ideal unit for residential homes and some commercial settings. This heat pump is often paired with an equally efficient water tank.
Potter Electric
Potter Electric features new products which enhance safety, solves problems for contractors and meet new regulations. Applications for these products include sprinkler systems and fire alarm systems.
Navien
Navien shows their light commercial fire tube boilers. This product is offered in a 300 and 399 BTU capacity. These boilers are easily cascadable, and up to four can share a common vent. Navien will soon have new larger boilers available.
SJE Rhombus
SJE Rhombus float switches control pumps and alarm systems. High water alarms monitor water tanks and septic tanks. A new model features WiFi connectivity which can send a text message alert for a high water alarm.
Merit Brass
Merit Brass Company shares the copper, stainless, and carbon press lines. These new lines feature exterior indication that the lines have been properly pressed.
Eemax
Eemax showcases the ProSeries XTP. This product is ideal for water heating in tough environments with extended run times.
